Rafael Varane, a defender for Manchester United and France, said that he is trying to stay as far away from the controversy as possible after Cristiano Ronaldo's explosive interview with Piers Morgan.Numerous former football players, supporters, and commentators have expressed their displeasure at Cristiano Ronaldo's decision to disparage his own team, Manchester United.

Pandora's box has been opened as a result of Ronaldo's interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, particularly in relation to Manchester United's football operations. Although the club hasn't yet taken action against Ronaldo in this matter, there is allegedly a lot of talk among his teammates about it. When asked about Ronaldo's remarks by reporters, United defender Rafael Varane responded that the players aren't aiming to stir up too much controversy.

In an interview with Europe 1 Sport, the French defender said that United players are trying to avoid the subject as much as possible.

Obviously, this affects us. We pay close attention to both words and deeds. We try to keep out of it as much as possible and try to diffuse the issue in our own way.

We try to take that with a grain of salt, he said, which means that we are not trying to solve the problem on our own but rather as a group, especially when it's a famous person like Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is currently playing for the Portugal national team ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. On November 24, Portugal's campaign gets underway. On November 17, they will also play a friendly against Nigeria.

The complete 90-minute footage of the 37-year-old's interview with Piers Morgan will be made available online on Wednesday and Thursday.

Manchester United had already stated in a statement that they would wait to take a position until the complete footage had been made public. Only fragments of the interview have so far been released.
